At Foundations, we provide specialised disability and community support for individuals living with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and psychosocial disabilities. Our work is grounded in lived experience. Inspired by our own family’s journey, we understand the importance of consistent, informed, and genuinely compassionate care. We know that support is not one-size-fits-all — and it should never feel that way.

Our Participants deserve more than basic assistance. They deserve tailored, trauma-informed support delivered by trained professionals who understand neuro-developmental and psychosocial complexity.

We carefully match individuals with dedicated support workers who are educated, empathetic, and committed to empowering independence, stability, and growth — in ways that genuinely fit each person’s life.

Because true support is not just about meeting needs.
It is about building strong foundations for the future.

How We're Different.

Foundations began with lived experience.

Through that experience, we saw first-hand the gaps that can exist within the health and disability systems — and the impact those gaps have on individuals and families.

We met members of our community who needed more than what was being offered. More understanding. More consistency. More informed support.

We saw support workers placed into complex roles without specialised training. We saw Participants paired with providers who did not take the time to truly understand their needs, strengths, and goals. Too often, support felt transactional — focused on compliance rather than care.

We believe tailored, informed support should be the baseline — not the exception.

Every support worker engaged by Foundations holds the appropriate qualifications, clearances, and comprehensive training before being matched with a Participant. Where complexity exists, we prioritise additional education and specialised knowledge.

We carefully select support workers who demonstrate empathy, emotional intelligence, consistency, and a genuine commitment to the people they support. We look for individuals who are willing to show up — not just physically, but relationally- because real support is built on trust.

And providing that level of care is not extraordinary.
It is the standard we hold ourselves to — every single day.

Advocacy & Awareness

Your experience is close to our hearts, and at the core of what we do. We’re proud to focus on our clients in ways that we fail to see in the health industry. Our mission is to continue improving the calibre of support clients receive in our communities and across the country.

Our Story

From our family, to yours.

Foundations Support Services began with family.

When a family member was diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), we came face to face with how overlooked and misunderstood FASD remains in Australia. The diagnostic journey was long — marked by confusion, stigma, and systemic barriers. And once the diagnosis came, a new challenge emerged: finding support that truly understood the complexity of FASD.

Too often, services were not equipped to provide informed, neurodevelopmentally appropriate care. Support felt generic, inconsistent, and disconnected from the lived reality of our family.

We knew there had to be a better way.

Foundations was created to bridge the gaps we experienced. Born from lived experience, we are not a generic provider — we are carers, advocates, and trained professionals who understand what it means to navigate this journey.

Our work is grounded in empathy, consistency, and a deep understanding of both the everyday challenges and the unique strengths of individuals living with FASD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and other psychosocial & physical disabilities.

We believe support should feel safe.
It should feel informed.
And it should feel empowering.

At Foundations, we walk alongside Participants and their families with care that is tailored, informed, and built on trust.

Because everyone deserves support that is grounded in care — and strong enough to build lasting foundations.
